Tonight, tonight…

Is absolutely crazy at work. Our first sold out night of the year. Whoo. This is the first chance I’ve had to just sit and breathe.

I got two new cds today and I’m quite excited by them. Franz Ferdinand, “You Could Have it So Much Better” and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, “Fever to Tell”. Ah, music goodness. It’s been a while since I just went and bought a cd.

I went to Curves today for the first time in a while. I am renewing my resolve. It felt great. My intentions are to go every weekday (like I was doing before I moved to Chicago) but I don’t know if that will happen. Working third shift just makes everything weird. But I figure if I am up by 4, work out 4:30-5:15, then shower and am ready for the day by 6 (and all these times are PM, mind you) that would work.

The longer trailer for the Silent Hill movie looks terrifying. The game alone scared the crap out of me, I can only imagine what the movie will do. If you haven’t played the game, you should. Yes yes, it’s for PSOne. But trust me. When you have to go to that elementary school and little girls are running at you with knives, you’ll be thankful for the slightly sub-par graphics. Oh yes, you will.

I want to read Stephen King’s new book, “Cell.” There were two sample chapters in Entertainment Weekly and I read them. And they were good. It’s an interesting concept. Even if you aren’t a fan of Stephen King, you have to admit that he is quite innovative. He took things that people had never thought to be all that scary–an old car, a dog, a clown (okay, the clown is debatable)–and turned them into things that could kill you. Lovely.

  1. Yeah Yeah Yeahs
    Silent Hill the game.
    Silent Hill the movie.
I didn't know you liked these cool things!!!!
Have you played the other games in the series? The second one is pretty good, but after that the stories start to go downhill. Even the content get's bad. The third one is: Look how disgusting/grotesque we can get for no reason. And the fourth: No more flashlight and fog or radio. One of the monsters farts when you hit it.

    • I DO like those cool things. 🙂
I have played Silent Hill 2 and 3. And I agree with you completely. I don't care what other people say, Silent Hill 1 is the best of them all.
I have only played about the first 30 or so minutes of The Room–not long enough to get to kill that farting monster. I may have to continue on…
Have you played the Fatal Frame games? I'm trying to get TIm into them. But I've only played the first one myself.

  2. I like how one of your online friends is just now discovering that you're cool. Congrats on full occupancy. It's an accomplishment when here I am thinking, "Chicago in January?"

    • The number of people here are due mainly to a Rolling Stones concert tomorrow and some air conditioning convention. They have conventions for the weirdest things, don't they?

      • Stones? I get it. Air Conditioning convention? I guess that they're used to working in really hot environments to that's why they're in Chicago in January. My mom's at a convention right now … in KEY LARGO. That's the point of a convention. You're supposed to have it in a cool place so it's like a company sponsored vacation. Chicago is cool … but it's also FREEZING.

What do you think?
