I also finally started The Tipping Point, and it’s very intriguing so far. He takes the premise that ideas and trends spread similarly to disease, as far as contagiousness and spreading patterns. He talks about the factors and the people involved in spreading an idea or trend. Basically he follows the 80/20 Principle which states that 80% of the work is done by only 20% of the workers. He then breaks that 20% into three different people types: Connectors – networking influencers, Mavens – information gatherers, and Salesmen – persuaders. I’m really enjoying it.
