Money Maven

I had three days off this week (an extra for Memorial Day).  I spent two of those days helping two different friends move.  I can’t wait to go back to work and take it easy!  On the plus side, however, I’ve toned some muscles I didn’t even know I had and I lost, like, at least ten pounds of water weight.  It’ll return, sure, but it’s still nice.

In financial news, I made a checklist of sorts for the rest of my financial year.  Here’s what I did:
1.) I got a calender and wrote down every bill I have on its respective due date.
2.) I highlighted every other Friday (my paydays).
3.) Based on the date correlations, I made a checklist of bills for every paycheck (credit cards, school loans, savings, food expenses, etc.)

So now all I have to do is look at my little checklist every payday, pay the items, and not worry about anything.  Huzzah!  I set it up so that by the end of 2006 I will have completed Dave’s savings account baby step and taken a sizable chunk of debt down.  This budgeting checklist excites me.  I’ve also made some rules for buying stuff–the chief of which is simply “don’t.”

On the dating front, I’ve met a guy named Ryan.  Weather permitting, he’s taking me out on his sailboat this weekend.  It should be interesting seeing as I’ve never been on any sort of boat.  The pessimist in me is positive that, upon setting foot on the vessel, I will be violently and embarrassingly seasick.  Where this is endearing to the male lead in movies, in real life it’s not so much.
