Impatiently Waiting for Magic

Life is crazy lately.  Going to school full-time while working full-time is a lot to take on.  It’s not impossible, but I definitely don’t recommend planning a wedding while you do it.  Being the masochist that I am, of course, that is exactly what I’m doing.

It’s going well though.  We have all the big stuff reserved and now it’s just a waiting game of saving up money in time to buy things with it.  A slightly less deadly or interesting version of Russian roulette, perhaps.  I hate waiting games.  It’s no secret that I have very little, if any, patience for anything.  I keep thinking, “It’s only March?!” while simultaneously breathing a sigh of relief that “it’s only March!”  Mama needs ta save mo’  money!  But all in all, weird dichotomy of emotion happening right here.

Sometimes good things happen when you don’t really care.  For example, in the interest of saving money [for which my zeal is unrivaled] I was going to have an afternoon wedding and serve appetizers.  With like, paper plates.  I didn’t think it was a big deal, but apparently my mother did.  She set out to not only find china for the reception, but a buffet dinner to serve on it.  I had to verify several times that she realized how much more this would all cost, which she did and still wanted to do anyway.  That’s just aces with me.  I should try not caring about more things and see what else magically happens.  Oh, also I’m having a bridal shower in Ohio this summer–my aunt and cousins surprised me with that one.

Have I mentioned previously that Mr. W has two daughters?  I’m not sure that I have.  That means, when we get married–I’ll be a stepmom.  That’s such a weird concept to me.  My mom did it and one of my best friends, Stephanie, did it.  I saw that movie called Stepmom.  So I know it can be done, but it’s still such a weird concept that I’M going to do it.  I just don’t want to screw it up.  Sometimes I feel incapable of even taking care of myself.  I’ve forgotten to eat meals.  Also, I’ve killed plants.  And fish.  And sea monkeys!  Not on purpose though.  Well, the sea monkeys were more of a conscious disregard–they were so creepy.

Just look at this.  See?  Totally creepy.

  1. This is a formal request to edit your posting under "Watching:" because, ma'am, you are a liar.

    Lost Season 5? I beg to differ…

Please update this posting before I submit an official complaint to your web hosting service saying that you are posting lies and disguising them as fact to the general blog-reading public.

    Thank you.
